The challenge

The proliferation of Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) technology has created a vulnerability: batteries that are difficult to manage over time and come with a supply chain dominated by overseas companies.

eCOphite material is a drop‑in graphite additive that solves LFP's biggest operational challenge: accurate state‑of‑charge (SoC) and state‑of‑health (SoH) estimation. With the increasing role of LFP in BESS, military and other applications, it is the perfect solution to address these operational challenges with a solution that has fully-domestic sourcing and is based on U.S.-supported innovation.

The mechanism

A voltage reference where there was none.

When eCOphite is blended with graphite it creates a predictable inflection point in an otherwise flat voltage curve. Existing BMS technology uses this as an anchor point to improve state estimation and improve performance.

  • The inflection point is tunable based on the ratio of eCOphite to graphite, so it can sit where the system needs it.

  • Benefits show up as low as a 5% eCOphite blend.

  • Validated in third-party 2Ah cells with a stable inflection point across 500 cycles.

  • Estimated 60-70% reduction in state-of-charge estimation error over time.

Where eCOphite sits

  • Cathode
  • Electrolyte
  • eCOphite Anode

(Blend with graphite or Full replacement)

One layer changes. The cathode chemistry, the electrolyte and the cell format stay exactly as they are.

The Markets

Storage sites and defense platforms.

LFP is taking over both. In a storage site a wrong state-of-charge reading means unnecessary augmentation and warranty exposure, and on a platform it means a crew making a go decision on a number nobody fully trusts.

Battery energy storage

Knowing the real state of charge changes how a site is operated and how it is warranted.

  • Reduces required downtime and maintenance cost
  • Reduces warranty risk and augmentation needs

Defense systems

A crew that can trust the number on the display makes different decisions.

  • Improves mission reliability
  • Supports better go and no-go calls in the field

Drop-in solution

It runs on the line you already own.

eCOphite is an additive, not a new cell architecture. The ratio is yours to set. It blends with the graphite you already buy and runs through the same industrial process equipment. That is the part most new anode materials get wrong.

The material comes from graphene monoxide, the only known solid form of carbon monoxide. Feedstock is bio-renewable. The supply chain is domestic end to end, with no offshore mining or processing.
