Forbes and Mika Brzezinski’s 50 Over 50 Celebration occurred in New York City this week. COnovate Co-founder Marija Gajdardziska-Josifovska was nominated to and attended the Know Your Value’s “50 Over 50” event on December 15, 2021, coincidentally, the 5th anniversary of COnovate’s creation.
Asked about the celebration at the Forbes on Fifth corporate event space in Manhattan, Marija stated that “The gathered women honorees radiated energy commonly associated with young leaders and openly shared words of experience and wisdom to celebrate and support each other. While Public figures from the worlds of politics, art and entertainment were easy to recognize, the event was dominated by women who are entrepreneurs, investors and CEOs, a perfect networking opportunity mix for a young and rapidly growing startup.”
The newest editorial franchise in Forbes lineup, 50 Over 50, shines a light on 50 diverse women over the age of 50 who have achieved significant success later in life, often by overcoming formidable odds and barriers. The list highlighted women from arenas such as business, philanthropy and policy who are achieving success in their local communities and beyond and who represent a broader community of women paving a new way forward for female leaders of any generation and at any scale.
“Over the years, Forbes created a global community with thousands of innovators, gamechangers and rulebreakers around the world through its ‘30 under 30’ list,” said Brzezinski. “This year, in partnership together, we introduced ‘50 Over 50’ to shine a bright light on the women who are rewriting the rules for success and shattering the prevailing misconceptions about age and gender in the workforce.”
First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, 70, made the remarks in New York City on Wednesday at an event celebrating Forbes and Know Your Value’s “50 Over 50” inaugural List, which launched in the summer.
Biden conversed with Mika Brzezinski in front of a crowd of about 100 attendees, which included list honorees and other notable women.
About 10,000 women were nominated to be on the Forbes and Know Your Value “50 Over 50 List,” which honors women from every industry sector around the globe.
Biden declined to be listed on the Forbes and Know Your Value “50 Over 50 list”, opting instead to make room for other nominees. However, she wanted to support the accomplished honorees who are defying gender and age norms.
