Explore COnovate - Leading Carbon Monoxide Innovation with eCOphite.

COnovate (formerly SafeLi, LLC) was formed in late 2016 to commercialize the discovery of graphene monoxide (GmO), the first form of carbon monoxide known to mankind that is a solid at atmospheric temperatures and pressures.

COnovate first secured an exclusive royalty-bearing, worldwide license from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Research Foundation to develop and commercialize product(s) covered by the licensed patent in all fields of use, with initial focus on lithium-ion batteries.

Explore the innovative companies and organizations that are collaborating with COnovate to revolutionize the industry.

These materials are based on abundant, non-toxic starting materials that offer low-cost, safer and higher capacity alternatives to graphite-only anode batteries.

Since the original detection of this material at the nanogram level, the Company under the leadership of our CEO Dr. Carol Hirschmugl has scaled the material by an astounding twelve orders of magnitude, demonstrated promising battery results, and removed significant cost from the process.

From one employee at the end of 2018, we have grown to the current 11 employees. This impressive progress was made with limited grant funding ($3.5M in grant funding since 2018) and nearly $1.7M in investment funding.

Carol Hirschmugl, PHD CEO, Co-founder, CO-inventor. Professor Emeritus in condensed matter physics. Fellow of AVS, has garnered $5M funding.
